GMarket Haul

8 Feb

Finally getting around to sharing with you guys my buys from GMarket! Decided to stock up on winter gear since a lot of winter gear was on sale already. Spent $200 this time. Sad to say that $50 went to shipping but the cost per item makes it so worth it. How else can you buy 3 jackets, 2 shoes, 1 sweater and 2 jeans for $200?

And my purchases:

Riding Boots

Combat Boots

Cream and Red Striped Sweater

Brown Jacket

Black Jacket

Can’t wait to wear them all when winter comes! I’ll be all warm with more alternatives instead of hiding under varsity hoodies and oversized sweaters.

Oh, and I’ve more stuff from Korea thanks to a friend! More shoes and facial masks!

Gift from Tanya!

Facial products from Korea!

Apparently each mask just costs $1 and you get tons of free samples with every purchase. Which explains why I received so many!

When I visit Korea, I’m going with an empty suitcase!

p.s. Apologies for the pixilated pictures, the iTouch’s camera just ain’t that great but it sure is better than my BlackBerry Curve’s.

Havaianas

27 Oct

Finally decided to buy myself a pair of Havaianas! They’re a bit of a splurge at $30 a pair when you can buy thongs for $2 at like Target or Cotton On but the moment I laid eyes on this online I knew I had to have it! Was getting paranoid that I’ll never find it because I could only find limited patterns online, it has been out for awhile and they seem really popular… Found them at City Beach today, grabbed a size and then paid for them!

Its so pwettyyyyy. Retail therapy ftw!

A Slice of KL Spree

7 Aug

So I went back to KL during the winter break. Dragged a few friends along with me because KL is just too awesome not to share- the food, the shopping, the food and the food. The people who stare at you like they’re gonna rape you  and everything else ain’t that great.

First place that we had to go to was Bukit Bintang! Love that place simply because you can find everything there within walking distance. Start out at Sungei Wang for budget stuff and work our way up the budget to Pavillion.

Was a bit bummed out that we couldn’t get much pampering done because lets face it, massages and facials will not be as cheap as Bangkok (never been but so I’ve heard) so we settled for hair cuts, hair treatments, wash and blow-dry and threading sessions at Bangsar and Damansara.

Here’s just some of the clothes I’ve purchased during the trip. A lot of my shit is still all over the place and I forget what is new and what isn’t.

The shopping 4 girls did in day 1!

Obviously going through a scallop phase!

  • Scallop trimmed tops with pearls from a online blogshop (saw the exact same top at Sungei Wang for a much cheaper price!) *rage face*
  • Mustard yellow skirt with scallop details from F-Block. F-Block is a clothing store which has lot’s of trendier stuff and it’s SO CHEAP. That skirt was around RM30.
  • & not forgetting my Topshop scallop trimmed shorts! Technically not a KL purchase because I bought it online at Topshop. Paid more for it compared to the KL retail price but guess what, it was all sold out! Definitely so happy I splurged on them!

Pleats are so pretty and girly!

  • Sheer midi skirt from Sungei Wang. Only RM25!
  • Cute dress from Blueberry, Bangsar.

Oh my goshhhh, I miss Bangsar Baru boutiques! You’d find such great pieces there for a reasonable price and every boutique is so quirky and different. But bewarned: Shop in Sungei Wang first because sometimes they carry the same pieces and you only pay a fraction of the price in Sungei Wang.

  • Sungei Wang RM25/RM30 sheer tops! Great for days when you don’t feel skinny
  • Scallop top from Far East Plaza. Found the same top in Sungei Wang (already saw it coming but had to buy it. I mean, what if I never see that top again?) for cheaper…. *rage face* Shopping is such a cruel cruel thing.
Been shopping more on eBay and Cherry Culture… Need to stop. I’ll be a very happy girl in two weeks time when all my purchases start arriving in my mailbox!

Burt’s Bees Travel Set

26 Mar

I’m a huge Burt’s Bees fan! I first found out about the brand two years back when I saw it in a magazine for winning the Best Shampoo category. Looked up on the brand online, checked it out at Myer and I was sold! So happy now that this brand is now available in more stores in Perth. They even have a few outlets in KL (envy!).

Started using their Soap Bark and Chamomile Deep Cleansing Cream two years back. I was a bit sceptical about using it because of all the “oil” listed in the ingredients. I have oily skin and after reading dozen’s of magazine articles, thought I needed to stick strictly to “oil-free” formulas but I’m very glad to say that this cleanser works very well with my skin. I leaves my skin feeling soft, clean and if I leave in on for a couple of minutes, you can feel the menthol kick in, leaving you skin feeling refreshed! I loved it so much that I bought the boyfriend a tube to use and he’s on his second tube as well!

The second Burt’s Bees product I use is their Tomato Garden Toner. I skip the “tone” step of my skincare routine  very often and a toner’s a toner to my so I  can’t say much. But I can say that it doesn’t leave my skin feeling heavy or overly dry even though one of it’s main ingredient is alcohol. I’m not sure what’s the story on this product, whether it has been discontinued or not. I was told by the sales assistant in KL that it has been discontinued but I still see it in the shelves in Perth. I bought an extra bottle anyway just in case. 🙂

We’re all suckers for cute packaging and catchy advertising… Was out at Priceline one day and I spotted the travel set I saw last year. It’s a travel set (well duh. Miniature sized products) in the cutest mini metal luggage with the  RRP of $39.95. Not going to pay that price for something I don’t need… A few weeks ago tho, I saw the travel set still there but the price tag says $20. I checked with the cashier if it’s really $20 and I bought it!

Oh come on, how can you not buy it when it’s half price and come’s in this packaging!

The contents: Radiance Body Lotion, 2 lip balms, foot cream, hand cream, Lemon Butter Cuticle Creme, Super Shiny shampoo and conditioner and Extra Energizing shower gel.

Only used a few products from this set as I don’t really need them. *guilty*

The Radiance body lotion has mica in it, giving it a natural shimmer hence the name ‘radiance’. The consistency of the lotion is really light making it easy to apply. I’m not a big fan of the shimmer because the first thing that come’s to mind is Twilight. I glitter under the sun!

The Lemon Butter Cuticle Creme is super. You need to get it! It does a miracle if you have dry cuticles and nails.

After using the shampoo and conditioner, I MUST GET IT! Unfortunately I still have a few bottles of shampoo and conditioner waiting for me. It’s pricier than drugstore brands too at $20 a bottle so it just has to wait for a few more months. The fact that the shampoo doesn’t lather and foam like drugstore shampoos do takes some getting used to. I was sceptical as to how “clean” would my hair feel since it doesn’t lather but I was pleasantly surprised! Used it on greasy, sweaty hair after gym. After using the shampoo and conditioner it left my hair feeling very light and soft. It smells good too!

That’s pretty much all I have to say about the products.

I’ve yet to use the lipbalms because I just bought a tube of Maybelline’s Baby Lips.

You should really give Burt’s Bees a try! It’s good for you as it’s mostly natural products without all kinds of chemicals crap!

Almost Magic

10 Aug

Once upon a time there was a magical kingdom called online shopping. In exchange for a few bank details, items would magically appear in your mailbox.

Okay, I am so not funny.

So happy today because I came home to my dress from Supre sitting in my mailbox (Ordered it on Thursday night and I got a feeling that it arrived on Monday but I wasn’t home). I had some lunch, took a nap and when I went downstairs to check my mailbox again, there was a package sitting in my mailbox again! To top that up, there was a bag under my bed with money and my new dress from KL in it! I feel like that girl in the fairy tale with the magic porridge pot! One more item to arrive and that’s if for now!

10th + 2

30 Jul

Why let Twitter have all the limelight? Random-doodles of my day, how badly I am at time management and my lack of priorities.

[1] Woke up around 9 in the morning and I was already planning my full day ahead. Quick shopping trip then to uni to catch up on Intro to Law lectures.

[2] 11.30am, Went to Carousel mall to buy a thing or two. Looked at one shop, went to another then went back to the first shop then back to the second shop. It’s no big deal except that the two stores are practically on the opposite sides of the mall. Wasted-my-time.

[3] Bought Covergirl lipstain! It came with a free nail polish. Now I can finally rock red lips and red nails!

[4] Always hesitant to paint my nails because I work in F&B hence no painted fingernails. Pointless to paint my toe nails since its still winter and it’s always hidden underneath shoes. Can’t resist my new red polish so I will paint my finger nails after work this weekend!

[5] Have to do law homework and reading.

[6] One down, four more  hours of lectures to go! (to catch up on for week 1) I’ve got valid reasons as to why I skipped! eg: Only lecture for the day hence not going to spend more time travelling than how long the lecture is! Lunch.

[7] Went to uni later than I planned today. Only managed to catch up on one lecture. I rock. Facebook-ed and blog[shop]-hopped while I was there.

[8] Had Roasted Chicken with steam rice from Chiliz. AUD4.5. That’s like the cheapest place that I know to get food other than at the food court at closing hour where they sell 3 pre-packed mixed rice for $10. I was starving so I finished everything *shock, horror* Last time I had something from Chiliz, I had it for two separate meals… They’re both of the same portion.

[9] I swear on a cute cat’s life that I will study and catch up on at least two more lectures tonight!

[10] Time to clean up the house and do laundry tomorrow. It.must.be.productive!

bonus:

[11] Most certainly need more than one shift at work if not it’s time to find a second job. Preferably something that’ll pay double during Sundays/holidays. ho ho ho.

[12] Today is the launch of the iPhone 4 in Australia. So amusing to see people lined up outside the phone dealership! At least it’s just a line and not like people camping overnight.
